Reading the Shorthand: L1 Through L6

Throughout this report and in conversation, we refer to each level by number. Here is what each one means in plain language:

Emerging (7-9)
Aware (4-6)
Not yet (0-3)
The gold bar marks your operating ceiling, the highest level at which your responses show at least "Emerging" capability. This is a different question than "where am I strongest." Your strongest zone is whichever bar above is tallest and greenest ("Operating"). Your ceiling is the edge of where you are beginning to operate, and it is usually where the highest-leverage development work is waiting. The two can be the same level, or they can differ. Both readings are useful; they just answer different questions.
